Rahul Gandhi‘s 145-Day-Long Bharat Jodo Yatra : The Congress party incurred an expenditure of ₹71.8 crore during its Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, averaging over costing ₹49 lakh per day for the 145-day journey concluding in Srinagar on January 30 last year. Additionally, the party allocated ₹40,10,15,572 for pre-poll surveys in 2022-23, a significant increase from ₹23,00,000 in the previous fiscal, as per the party’s annual audit report submitted to the Election Commission.
Despite spending more than ₹192.5 crore on election-related activities in 2022-23, a reduction from the previous fiscal’s ₹279.5 crore, the Congress managed to secure a victory in Himachal Pradesh while contesting in Gujarat, Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya. The party’s receipts for the fiscal year 2022-23 amounted to ₹452.3 crore, a decrease from the previous year’s ₹541.2 crore.

The opposition party’s expenditure for the fiscal year stood at ₹467.13 crore, with donations totaling ₹268.6 crore, down from ₹347.9 crore in the preceding year. Additionally, the Congress spent ₹58.8 lakh on its plenary session in Raipur during the same period.
The total cost of Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra for the fiscal year 2022-23 amounted to ₹71,83,96,270 crore, averaging ₹49,20,522 per day over the 145-day duration. The yatra, covering 4,000 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, concluded on January 30, 2023. Rahul Gandhi, who initiated the yatra on September 7, 2022, traversed through a dozen states and two Union Territories, addressing public meetings, corner meetings, press conferences, and numerous walking and sitting interactions.
