Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh: Actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan paid a visit to the residence of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravathi on Sunday. During their meeting, both leaders discussed the allocation of seats for the upcoming elections.

Last month, Mr. Naidu and Pawan Kalyan independently declared their candidates for two assembly seats in the Andhra Pradesh polls scheduled for this year. Pawan Kalyan announced candidates for the Rajanagaram and Razole constituencies, while Chandrababu Naidu declared candidates for the Araku and Mandapeta constituencies. This move raised concerns about potential strain within the TDP-JSP alliance.

Recognizing the political pressure, Pawan Kalyan revealed his party’s decision to contest in two seats. He mentioned, “Similar to Chandrababu, I am also facing pressure, which led to the decision for Jana Sena to contest in two constituencies.” He emphasized the challenging political landscape as the driving force behind this strategic decision.

However, Pawan Kalyan stressed the unity of the alliance, stating, “Even if there are differences, both parties will participate in the elections together.” This reaffirmed the commitment of both Jana Sena and the TDP to jointly contest the upcoming elections. “Today, on the 75th Republic Day, I am pleased to make this announcement,” he added. Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for assembly polls in the coming months, alongside this year’s Lok Sabha elections.
