In a significant political allegation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has charged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with orchestrating a scheme termed ‘Operation Lotus 2.0‘. This strategy, according to AAP, aims to destabilize and ultimately overthrow the democratically elected government in Delhi. The term ‘Operation Lotus 2.0‘ references the BJP’s alleged tactics to erode the support base of the AAP and manipulate the political landscape in their favor, raising concerns about the integrity of democratic processes in the capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has levied serious accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging a deliberate campaign to destabilize the elected Delhi government dubbed ‘Operation Lotus 2.0‘. According to Kejriwal, the BJP has attempted to lure AAP MLAs away with substantial bribes, aiming to weaken and eventually topple his administration.

In a statement on X,

detailed the alleged BJP plot: “They (BJP) have approached 7 of our MLAs in Delhi, asserting that they plan to arrest me soon, and subsequently, they will fracture our MLA support. Despite claims of contacting 21 MLAs, only 7 have been approached, all of whom have declined their offers.”

Kejriwal vehemently denied the allegations being a part of any investigation, such as a liquor scam, suggesting instead that these moves are part of a broader strategy to dislodge the AAP government. He reflected on the past nine years, noting multiple failed attempts to destabilize his government, crediting divine and public support for their resilience, and emphasizing the unity and strength among AAP MLAs against such tactics.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the achievements of his government despite the BJP’s opposition, asserting that the significant public support for AAP in Delhi makes electoral defeat for the party unlikely. He accused the BJP of attempting to usurp power through fabricated charges and arrests related to a non-existent liquor scam, underscoring his belief in the electorate’s love for AAP and its governance.

This confrontation underscores a deepening political rift in Delhi, with AAP accusing the BJP of undermining democratic principles and engaging in underhanded tactics to shift the balance of power.
