Ayodhya Ram Mandir 2024 : In a momentous occasion on January 22, 2024, Ayodhya witnessed the long-awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Janmbhoomi Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and other dignitaries, graced the event, marking a significant milestone in Indian culture.
Crafted by the skilled hands of sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, the 51-inch-tall idol of Ram Lalla, standing gracefully on a lotus, took center stage. The consecration ceremony was met with religious fervor, symbolized by Army helicopters showering flower petals on the temple premises.

The grand event attracted around 7,000 VVIPs, including actors, sportspersons, industrialists, and politicians. The Ram Mandir, constructed in the Nagara architectural style, spans 380 feet in the east-west direction, with a width of 250 feet and an impressive height of 161 feet. Its vertical structure, supported by 392 pillars and adorned with 44 gates, adds to the architectural marvel.
Prior to the ceremony, PM Modi observed an 11-day ‘anushthan,’ sleeping on the floor and adhering to a disciplined routine. He also visited various temples across India and took a holy dip at the Rameswaram ‘Angi theerth’ beach.
Addressing the gathering after the rituals, PM Modi congratulated the people, emphasizing the end of a hundred years of anticipation. He urged the nation to “lay the foundation of India for the next 1,000 years” and pledged to build a capable, grand, and divine India.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony’s key highlights included PM Modi performing rituals, ‘aarti’ of the Ram Lalla idol, and addressing the gathering. Following the consecration, he offered prayers at the Kuber Tila Shiva temple and unveiled the Jatayu statue. Flower petals were showered upon the dedicated workers involved in the construction of the Ram Mandir.
In response to remarks by AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on the Babri Masjid, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) asserted that he would soon become a “Ram Bhakt.” Owaisi had suggested that the mosque’s demolition in 1992 had led to the current situation for Muslims. The VHP responded by predicting Owaisi’s eventual chanting of “Raam Naam.” The Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration ceremony marked a historic moment, blending religious significance with cultural unity.
