In a shocking turn of events, the murder of a four-year-old boy in Goa has taken a sinister twist, with investigators suggesting that the crime appears to be premeditated. Suchana Seth, a Bengaluru-based CEO, stands accused of killing her son at a rented apartment in North Goa’s Candolim before transporting the lifeless body to Karnataka. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many grappling with the horrifying details that continue to emerge.

According to a senior Goa Police official, the investigation points to a disturbing possibility that the child’s death was not accidental. Empty bottles of cough syrup discovered in the crime scene have raised suspicions that Seth may have administered a potentially lethal dose of medication to her son. The incident took place between January 6 and 8, during which Seth checked into a service apartment before leaving for Bengaluru in a taxi.\

Seth’s arrest unfolded in Karnataka’s Chitradurga on Monday night, and she was subsequently brought back to Goa for further questioning. A court in Goa remanded her to six days of police custody to facilitate a thorough investigation into the disturbing circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

The post-mortem examination conducted on the child’s body has provided initial insights, suggesting the possibility of smothering as the cause of death. The senior police official revealed that although there were no signs of struggle, the post-mortem indicated the child might have been smothered. Intriguingly, during the investigation, it emerged that Seth had allegedly asked service apartment staff to purchase cough syrup, claiming she was unwell.

Despite the evidence and the disturbing nature of the crime, Suchana Seth vehemently denies any involvement, putting forth a theory that the child was already deceased when she woke up. The police, however, expressed skepticism about her account, emphasizing the need for further investigation to uncover the motive behind the tragic incident.

In the midst of the investigation, authorities have disclosed that the child’s death was a result of strangulation, ruling out manual strangulation by hands. Dr. Kumar Naik, the administrative officer at Hiriyur Taluk Hospital, noted that the postmortem findings indicated the use of a pillow or cloth in the act of smothering, a grim detail adding another layer of horror to the case.

Meanwhile, the child’s father, Venkat Raman, who was reportedly in Jakarta, Indonesia, has taken possession of the body following the completion of the postmortem examination. Suchana Seth, known for her role as the CEO of ‘The Mindful AI Lab’ and recognized as an AI ethics expert and data scientist with over 12 years of experience, now finds herself at the center of a tragic and deeply unsettling investigation that has left the community in shock and disbelief. As the case unfolds, authorities will continue their efforts to piece together the puzzle of this heartbreaking incident that has stunned the nation.
